Dr. Jennifer Biglow, world-renowned dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon, developed Z. Bigatti for her patients in 1997 after seeing a need for a new approach to skin care in the market place. Her loyal patients continually expressed their growing discontent with the vast array of confusing multiple-step skincare regimens that were either ineffective or causing irritation. At the time, Dr. Biglow recommended a combination of three store-bought products to repair, nourish and protect the skin.
In the very early 1990’s, Dr. Biglow became increasingly aware of a void in the skincare market. Along with a team of ultra-progressive cosmetic chemists and medical professionals, she went to work in a lab performing clinical studies, conducting research projects and perfecting product development that would result in the first “all-in-one” facial treatment – Re-Storation Skin Treatment. Z. Bigatti’s star product, Re-Storation Skin Treatment launched this ultra-exclusive, super-efficacious skin care line and started a cult craze.
Dr. Biglow’s dedication to exceptional skincare, loyalty to her patients and passion for dermatology led her to develop an unprecedented, universally beneficial base formulation of superior-quality hydroxy acids, anti-oxidants, vitamins and enzymes that resulted in an unparalleled skincare collection. Today, the line includes over sixteen products and has gained a tremendously devoted following. Z. Bigatti is, by no means, just another “doctor” line. Rather, it is an ultra-luxurious skincare brand with extraordinary medical credentials.
Dr. Biglow began her private Practice of Dermatology in 1987, following medical school and dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota. Immediately reputed as a prominent expert in dermatology, she became affiliated with many leading professional associations, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatological Surgery, International Society of Dermatology, Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors, International Spa & Fitness Association, Minnesota Medical Association, Minnesota Medical Foundation, and the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association.
Dr. Biglow’s sought-after medical expertise also resulted in her affiliation with a number of Minnesota’s top hospitals, including Health One, Fairview Ridges, St. Paul Children’s Hospital, United Hospital, St. Joe’s Hospital and St. John’s Hospital NorthEast. Today, she is a frequent medical consultant for the KTCA Educational Channel Health Diary Series on PBS, and for KSTP, the ABC television affiliate news station in Saint Paul. She lectures and educates on skincare issues nationally to estheticians, professional esthetics organizations, day spas, salons and students.
The Skincare Philosophy: The best makes the brightest. “I’m a firm believer that skincare should be simple, yet at the same time make sense,” says Dr. Biglow. “Use the best products available and those that contain the highest number of active ingredients. The philosophy behind the Z. Bigatti line is the incorporation of everything that’s good for your skin including hydroxies, alpha lipoic acid, vitamins, anti-oxidents, enzymes, and natural botanicals.”

Dr. Jennifer Biglow, a dermatologist practicing in Minneapolis, Says she was tired of seeing her patients run from store to store buying skincare products that didn’t work. So she set out to create an all-in-one cream that could condition,
exfoliate and provide even-toned, healthy -looking skin. She submitted a formula to two cosmetic chemists and worked closely with them for two years before launching Z. Bigatti Re-Storation Skin Treatment in 1997, a cream with 15 active ingredients: five AHAs, five vitamins and five antioxidants. “Educating estheticians about the product and the benefits of the ingredients is an important part of my skincare line,” she says.

Similarly, Z. Bigatti Labs has combined hydroxy acids with skin-nutrifying vitamins for its new Re-Storation Skin Treatment. The formulator of Re-Storation, Dermatologist Jennifer Biglow, explains the product’s action: “Both glycolic and
lactic acids remove the dull, dry outer layers of skin through gentle and continuous desquamation, or exfoliation. This makes the skin look younger, healthier, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and reducing apparent pore size. [The acids also] moisturize the skin by acting as humectants and binding water to the stratum corneum.” In addition, the formulation includes salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid, an “excellent humectant that hydrates the dermis,” as well as skinconditioning vitamins A (retinyl palmitate), B complex, E and K.
“[The] antioxidants help provide the ultimate protection against damaging free radicals induced by UV light, environmental toxins and pollutants, including the skin’s own daily metabolism,” Biglow continues. “Long-term protection benefits can be achieved by allowing the skin to repair damage already present in the skin, as well as protecting against ongoing exposures and retarding the aging process.”
